YOU PUT THE DEVIL OUT, BUT DID YOU LET HIM LEAVE HIS BAGS?

This is powerful!

You got out of a bad relationship
because it was bad, but you
are still resentful and angry
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of financial debt, but you still can't
control the desire to spend on frivolous things
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of a bad habit or
addiction, but you still long to try
it just one more time
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You said, I forgive you, but you can't seem to forget and have peace with that person
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You told your unequally yoked mate that
it was over, but you still continue to call
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of that horribly oppressive
job, but you are still trying to sabotage
the company after you've left
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You cut off the affair with that married man/woman, but you still lust after him/her
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You broke off your relationship with that hurtful, abusive person, but you are suspicious and distrusting of every new person you meet (you let the devil leave his bags)

You decided to let go of the past hurts from growing up in an unstable environment, yet you believe you are unworthy of love from others and you refuse to get attached to anyone
(you let the devil leave his bags)

When you put the
devil out, please make
sure he takes his bags!

in the year 2008,
Let the devil Take his bags with him!
Be Blessed, Healthy and Happy!

LIFE IS ALL ABOUT PERSPECTIVE - TWO GLASSES OF WINE

I received the following message in an email from a close friend of mine, Mollie Wolf.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 glasses of wine...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two glasses of wine from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things; your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions; things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still l be full.' The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else; the small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'There is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.'

'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. Do one more run down the ski slope. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first; the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the wine represented.
The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of glasses of wine with a friend.'

FOR ALL YOU ANIMAL LOVERS - GREAT STORY

The K9 above is Brutus, a military K9 at McChord. He's huge - part Boxer and part British Bull Mastiff and tops the scales at 200 lbs. His handler took the picture. Brutus is running toward me because he knows I have some Milk Bone treats, so he's slobbering away! I had to duck around a tree just before he got to me in case he couldn't stop, but he did. Brutus won the Congressional Medal of Honor last year from his tour in Iraq. His handler and four other soldiers were taken hostage by insurgents. Brutus and his handler communicate by sign language and he gave Brutus the signal that meant "go away but come back and find me". The Iraqis paid no attention to Brutus. He came back later and quietly tore the throat out of one guard at one door and another guard at another door. He then jumpe d against one of the doors repeatedly (the guys were being held in an old warehouse) until it opened. He went in and untied his handler and they all escaped. He's the first K9 to receive this honor. If he knows you're ok, he's a big old lug and wants to sit in your lap. Enjoys the company of cats.

LIVE IN THE PRESENT!!!

So I'm out visiting my parents and little sis in Indiana right now. I always like changing up the scene every once in a while and this trip is definitely a change in scenery. It hasn't reached over 35 degrees since I've been out here and yesterday we got a nice drop of snow. I haven't seen this much snow since the recruiting trip I took out to Southern Utah University back in '01.

During my stay here, I found a book in my Dad's office titled "Do You!" It's a book written by Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons. I'm about half-way through and I wanted to share something that I've taken and applied immediately in my own life. Especially since I'm only going to be visiting my family for another couple of days. I thought it would be helpful to all of you so now I'm sharing it! It's about living in the present. Check out this little excerpt taken from the book.

[ The most powerful step in realizing your potential is simply to be present in the world. That might seem so obvious that it barely bears repeating, but operating outside of the present is actually what separates all of us from the happiness we desire. We talk about living for the here and now, but in reality we're much more comfortable avoiding it. Too often, we spend our lives drifting between the past and the future, instead of rooting ourself in the moment. And living like that, you become your worst enemy. You wait for things to happen instead of making them happen. You imagine what happiness is like instead of appreciating the happiness that is already present in your life. You dream about making money, or about the money you've lost, instead of appreciating that you're rich this very second! You must embrace the present. Never, ever forget that. You can't make money in the future and you can't make money in the past. The present is the only place you're going to get paid. Just as the present is also the only place you'll ever be truly hapy, or ever be able to experience true love.

The world is so loud that we almost forget that we're capable of being present. We forget that we can experience seconds when we feel truly alive. That's why it's so important to remember to remember that we are capable of being present. Like when we see a beautiful woman, or a beautiful sunset, or even a beautiful piece of art, and just say, "Wow." Those are moments of pure presence. Moments when you stop thinking about everything else that's happening in the world and totally focus on being present. You don't hear the traffic, or see the other people on the street. You forget where you are, or where you were heading, and become transfixed by how powerful the orange sun looks as it begins to drift behind the clouds. Those are moments of presence. ]

Want more? Pick up Russell's book! I HIGHLY recommend it! For now, here's some pics I snapped out here on the Indiana country-side.

JUST ANOTHER DAY?

Today was a an interesting day. I had to wake up at 6:30 in the AM and for those that know me well, know this is not normal WHATSOVER! I'm usually in bed by 4am and up by 930am. I like working late nights because the phone doesn't ring and there are rarely any distractions.

I woke up early because I had offered to help do some casting for a motion picture film called "The Outside," currently filming here in San Diego. Check out the movie's website by clicking here There's a scene in the movie where the main actor is signing autographs inside of a board shop, so they needed a few gals to act as extras and one of them would have a line in the movie. By the way, I was asked to find people in less then 24 hours! So I busted out my 'no-signal receiving' cell phone to make a few calls as soon as I received the request and within a few hours, a squad was formed.

Here's where it gets interesting. After I told the producers I could help find extras, they then ask if I could be an extra for a scene at the beach. I was told there would be a bonfire style ceremony and a paddle out into the ocean where another ceremony would be held. He claims they were short on talent and it would really help them out If I agreed to be in the scene.

WHAT? ISN'T IT THE MIDDLE OF WINTER? THE WATER IS PROBABLY 30 OR 40 DEGREES!!

So what do I say after these thoughts wander through my mind? Like a dumb ass, I say YES and accept his offer. "Do you have a wet suit?" I reply back, "no." "You're probably going to want one" he says. I mutter to myself, 'no kidding.'

I make the call time for the first location this morning which was 730am. I left the location at about 10am because I had a meeting scheduled at 11am in Rancho Bernardo and at that time, I was in Ocean Beach. I race home for a Superman style quick change and head over to Studio West. Studio West is a beautiful venue for producing music and after meeting with them, I'm excited to see where our path may lead.

I left Studio West at 11:45am and raced back down to the Kearny Mesa area for a lunch meeting with Douglas Foxworthy, a very accomplished and intelligent music business guru. All I can say is the meeting was POWERFUL and I can't wait to see what the future holds. That meeting was done at about 1:30 and from there, we were off to La Jolla Shores for the bonfire ceremony and paddle out scenes.

To make a longer story shorter...in a few hours we got the shots needed at the final locations and I was able to find my way out of having to paddle out in the COLD ASS OCEAN! I'll give myself a pat on the back for that one!

After leaving the beach, we grabbed something to eat, ran a few errands, then finally made our way home. As Icecube would say "I can't complain, today was a good day!"

Check out footage from our time at the beach scene:

HAVE WE BEEN BRAINWASHED?

In some respects, I don't blame people for their ignorance, especially when it comes to money and politics. I place a majority of that blame on the broad shoulders of our media.

I was watching the Charger's vs. Patriots game yesterday with a few friends when a conversation came up about Jamie Lynn Spears, who is Brittany Spears little sister. It was interesting when one of my friends ran off detailed information about Jamie's situation, but when I asked if she could tell me who was running for president I received only one name...Hilary Clinton. Torie, I'm not talking about you if by any chance you happen to read this post.

Again, I don't completely blame my friend for not knowing this information because like her, there are a lot of people in America who's attention has been diverted to issues that really have no bearing in their lives... like issues that involve celebrity mishaps. TMZ, US Weekly, and all those other gossip magazines are KILLING it right now because the American people love to know what the gossip is and sometimes it seems like they don't care about anything else! I wish that same attention was being paid to this years presidential elections. Maybe then I could have hope for a brighter future in our country. But again, the media has done a slick job of brainwashing people into focusing their attention to issues that just don't f#@%! matter.

The corporate juggernauts have advertised their way to massive profits while people fall deeper and deeper into debt. Why? Because the media has done a great job of making people feel that to enhance their self-worth, they must BUY clothes, cars, and other unnecessary products. Is this beginning to sound a little familiar?

I've also been a victim of this brainwashing fiasco for a very long time now but over the last few years, let's just say I've experienced an awakening. I was one of those that measured my self-worth by the amount of things I had, but I'm glad to say that isn't the case anymore. I think it's time for other people to begin awakening but I know it's a slow and arduous process. It's difficult to suddenly alter a lifetime of brainwashing but I have faith that people will come around and some already have. I also have faith there will soon be a positive shift of the masses but it will take a huge commitment from A LOT of people. The question is...are you ready for a change??

Shout out to Lequa for turning me on to the video above.

VIDEO FOR KANYE'S 'FLASHING LIGHTS?'

I was excited to hear Yeezy is working to produce a video for his hit record, Flashing Lights. Here's a screenshot of one of the scenes from the video.

A NEW CHALLENGE

I'm always looking for new challenges to conquer. Whether it be in sports or business, I always look forward to challenges that test my will because I know it shapes me into becoming a stronger, better, man.

I found a new challenge which I never expected to be as tough as it has been. I always had a perception that yoga was for people that didn't want to face strenuous exercise, but damn was I wrong!

Three days ago, I started a style of yoga called Bikram Yoga. It's yoga that consists of 26 different postures and breathing exercises in a room heated to a temperature that varies from 95 to 105 degrees. In my first class, I remember feeling like I was going to throw-up and pass out after only doing the exercises for about 20 or 30 minutes, in a class that lasts about 90 minutes. They tell you at the beginning of your first class that it's normal to feel that way and you begin to experience, you should lie down and take a break. Your only objectives in that first class 1. don't leave the room 2. survive!!

For a guy that has participated in the highest level of sports, I never expected to be challenged by yoga. It's not only a physical challenge, but a mental challenge as well. It definitely tests the will of a man and I'm glad I was introduced to this form of exercise. Here's a video I found describing Bikram yoga and its many benefits, both physical and mental.

Find a studio near you and try it out for at least a week. I guarantee you'll feel great once you get a few classes under your belt!

9/11 BLACKLIST: USING OUR DOLLARS FOR CHANGE

Here's an interesting blog post I read today. You want change in America? Well here's a good start:

"In the six years since the tragic events of September 11th, 2001, the mainstream media in America has largely been a mouthpiece of the Bush administration. All of the major networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and others had until recently, been silently complicit in the cover-up of the events of that day, the un-Constitutional wars that would follow, and the steady erosion of our Constitutionally protected rights.

When the “9-11 Truth” community grew to the point that it could no longer be ignored, these same networks that had ignored the issue for so long began to attack individuals and groups of individuals who were seeking answers to the lingering questions which still remain about 9-11. As the success of various truth movements continues to broaden, these attacks have now escalated to include Peace activists, monetary reform activists, and now even supporters of Presidential candidate Ron Paul. Recent attacks have suggested that the 9-11 movement, Peace activists, and Ron Paul supporters are terrorists, and some in the media have implied that we should be silenced."

UNIFIK TO REPRESENT MUSIC PRODUCED BY DJ SCRATCH

I just want to start off by saying wow! Today has been a crazy up and down day! What a great start to '08! I'm happy to report that we have just reached an agreement with a super heavy hitter in the music industry - DJ SCRATCH!!!

UNIFIK has just obtained the rights to represent and secure licenses for several songs produced by Scratch. A few of the tracks will appear on Scratch's album which due for release in early '08. Here is a list of the songs that we'll be representing.

"Tonight" featuring Musiq Soulchild (listen to the track on Scratch's Myspace CLICK HERE )
"Break You Off" featuring the Roots
"I'm Reh To Go" featuring Kanye West
"Everytime" featuring Rosie Wilson

I can't believe how far we've come in such a short time! But now is the time to work even harder!! I'd love to let you all hear the music but unfortunately under this agreement, I can't =(. The track featuring Kanye is super hott and I can't wait for Scratch's album to drop so you all can hear it. If you'd like to license any of these tracks for TV, movie, video games, commercials, etc., reach out to us! If you have music you'd like us to represent, you know where we're at!

For now, you can enjoy one of the tracks that has already been released. You may have heard it before...It's called "Comin to Break You Off." Check out the video:

WHERE HAVE ALL THE GOOD PEOPLE GONE??

"Good people are hard to find these days." I've always tried to keep faith in people but as I get older, that faith is slowly starting to fade. I've always been the type of person to put others' needs before mine, but I'm contemplating whether that should be something I change to protect myself.

It sucks because I notice people around me who don't have half the integrity or character that I work so hard maintain, enjoying success and living the life. I'm not saying that I haven't enjoyed success and I'm not happy, but shouldn't it be easier for guys like me? Or should I just start looking out for my own self interest and not worry about others? Maybe then I'll enjoy more success.

It's funny because when someone is needing something from me, they're always around, but when the roles are reversed, that same person is no where to be found. I've helped a lot of people with no questions asked and without asking for anything in return, but very rarely do people reciprocate unless they have something in it for them. Maybe I shouldn't extend myself as much as I do all of time. It just makes me wonder sometimes if nice guys really do finish last.

MARIJUANA SAFER THAN ALCOHOL???

What a story!! I'm very surprised that an actual presidential candidate would come out and say this in public! Who cares that it's the truth, I'm just impressed that this guy has the balls to actually say it...in front of some high school kids! I have no clue who this guy is but maybe I should vote for him!! haha j/k

NEW YEAR'S PARTY!!!

This was the first time I actually had fun at a night club to bring in the new year! What a change for once in my lifetime and I'm convinced it was because of the company I rolled with. Our group had nine people and we had a table at Jade Theater. This was the first time I had ever been to the club and it had a nice look, but the service wasn't so great. I mean, it's hard to enjoy cocktails when you don't have any ICE!!! That was just ONE of the issues we had during the night. At midnight, we brought in the new year by "makin' it rain." Our table was on the second floor of the club and we threw dollar bills down to the people dancing below. It was a great night and we ended it by making a stop at Santanas for some good ole' Mexican food...always the best when you've had plenty to drink! What a nice start to 2008!

Check out photos from the night.
