CHARITY POKER TOURNAMENT

On the 20th of this month, we hosted a charity poker tournament @ Platinum Collections benefiting the Police Youth Foundation. We donated $15K to the foundation and on behalf of the Platinum Collections staff, I want to thank all of the players who played in the tournament for their support. $15K is a lot of money and it's going to help some good kids so look out for some good karma coming your way!

The energy of our guests at the party was amazing and it's always good times when everyone connects on the same level! But as I always tell myself, good people attract other good people and that's the key to having a great party right?! Enough from me, check out some of the photos and some footage!

UNIFIK MUSIC ON A&E'S TV SHOW - GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS

I was taking a nap earlier today when I was awakened by my cell phone. I was too tired to take the call but I end up calling my brother back when I finally came to full consciousness. We set dinner plans and I hung up the phone.

When I fully awakened, the TV was on and Gene Simmons Family Jewels was the show currently being aired. I couldn't find the remote to change the channel right away so I decided to watch a little of the show.

A few moments later, the background music in one of the scenes of the show catches my ear cause and I realize that I'm familiar with the song I. I quickly get up to find the remote to rewind TIVO and listen to the song again. After re-winding the show a bit, I listen closely and quickly realize the song is one that my company has licensed to the show!!

This is interesting to me because although we know which shows we have licensed our music to, I don't usually watch TV so I've never heard our music live on air. Nonetheless, I was very proud to hear our music being played on a well known TV show and I equate it to hearing your music played on the radio!

If you'd like to catch the show episode, it's called: "Trapped In Paradise: Gene's one-day trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands becomes an unpleasant..." The song is playing once he closes the deal and walks into an unexpected party being thrown by his peoples in his hotel room.

Just another milestone right? Let's keep it movin!

THE 'CONNECT FOUR IDEA'!!!

Since I started working on this event, a lot of people have been asking me how I came up with the CONNECT FOUR tournament. Those of you who are close to me probably knew that I was working to contract Kanye for an after party when he was in concert here on 4/20. Well, that obviously didn't happen but during the time I was planning to do the event, I got to know Mr. West in a more intimate way. I always like to get the details on any artist I work with because it helps me create the best experience for them. So after checking out Kanye's blog a few times, I ran across videos of him playing 'CONNECT FOUR' with people like Beyonce, Johan Hill, Jay Z, etc. It turns out that he likes to invite people to play against him while he's on tour. How crazy is that? To make a long story short, that's where the idea came from! See you on Saturday night.

I can't wait for this party to jump off!! I'm starting to get that adrenaline rush which is why I love producing events! Tomorrow I plan to buy a 'CONNECT FOUR' game so I can sharpen my skills! I'm kicking some ass on Saturday so you all better come to play..hahahaahah! I'll be posting more ideas about the party in the next following hours, days, or whenever an idea comes to my mind and I feel like posting it. This is my way of creating a forum as a way to share ideas on how to make this event even better! I'm open to whoever wants to share their thoughts on the event and please don't hold back.
